Séverine Desmarest, having studied law, political science and litterature at university and discovered her true passion: Photography. Self taught, she launched herself into the realm of imagery. Her hard work paid off in 1998 when she received the prestigious AGFA prize for her photos in black and white.

Her photographs, touched with romanticism, lightness and poetry, of beautiful stage costumes, invite us to embark on an imaginative voyage through the labyrinth of the "Opéra National de Paris" and the theatre of the "Comédie Française".

After many works and exhibitions for these two prestigious stages, she devoted herself to the realization of the exhibition "Hands of Peace".

The project brings together the portraits of 40 people from all over the world, from all walks of life, who are actively engaged and united by the same humanitarian goal for PEACE.

During the Cannes film festival 2016, an auction of the photos of the exhibition "Hands of Peace" will be made for the profit of the "Whitaker Peace&development Initiative" and the "Panzi Foundation" of the doctor Denis Mukwege.

In 2017, Séverine Desmarest presented the exhibition "Hands of Peace" in partnership with Unesco on the grids of Unesco from 30 October to January 15, 2018.

It was inaugurated during the 39th General Conference of UNESCO (October 30 to November 14), which brought together the 195 member states.

In 2018, 2019 and 2020, "Hands of Peace" continues its roaming in France and abroad (Paris, Geneva, Lausanne, Cannes, La Rochelle, Fontevraud, Saint-Savin sur Gartempe ...)
